THE RIFFS: were formed in 1989, The Riffs have played at many major European festivals and scooter rally’s and are a scooterist’s favourite. Their sound and live set is very energetic and manages to avoid the clichéd sound that many of today’s ska bands seem to have adopted. Their sound is a mix of traditional ska and reggae with a unique feel that never fails to get people dancing. They have a huge number of songs at their disposal including classic originals like Monday Morning, Dirty Bum, Blind Date, Funny Little Fella etc. and covers, played with style and energy.
NO LIP: Right, lets get this straight. No Lip play no frills, straight up, honest as you like punk rock. They don’t bother with their own stuff, it just clouds the issue, the issue being bringing certain tunes back to an appreciative audience and not trying to promote their own half arsed take on current affairs, they leave that to the “Facefuk” generation. No Lip perform heart felt renditions of PuNk RoCk classics that you’re just going to love!
MR CLEAN: Recently described as the UK’s most exciting and energetic tribute to the Woking 3, Mr Clean stand out amongst others, and are now the most sought after Jam tribute band in the country because of their authentic and energetic sound and performance! All three members of Mr Clean are massive Jam fans, and have been performing musicians, and have known each other, since their teenage years, before coming together to pay homage to one of the greatest bands the country has ever known. Playing a wide selection of singles, B sides and album tracks, Mr Clean don’t pretend or try to be The Jam, but are recognised as the ultimate tribute to the songs of The Jam because of the energy and passion they put into their live performances, something which is often lacking with other acts.
SKABRETTA: Since their formation in 2013 Skabretta quickly became a must see name on the Ska scene, their sound has been described as unmistakably authentic and this sound has seen them share the stage with a number of reggae greats including ASWAD, Dennis Alcapone, Susan Cadogan, Winston Reedy as well as members of the Specials and 2tone superstars the such as Nevil Staples and Roddy Byers, the Selecter and King Hammond. In recent times Skabretta have played at a number of the UKs top music venues such as 100 Club, the 12 Bar, Dublin Castle and the IndigO2, as well as a host of festivals and scooter rallies including SKAbour, Skamouth and now Big 7. With no signs of slowing down and demand for this 8-piece outfit as high as ever there is a lot more to come from Skabretta and you’re going to hear and see some of it!
